Peter -
Historically, the SuperCollider email lists have had two topics and two email addresses -
sc-users and
sc-dev. On
scsynth.org, we chose to provide more categories so people can have more choice over what they receive emails about.
In general, discussion that would have occurred on
sc-dev takes place in the
Development category, and via the email address ct-development
ct-development@xxxxxxxxxxxxx . Discussion that occurs on
sc-users generally takes places in the
Questions category, via the email address
ct-questions@xxxxxxxxxxxxx . The other categories are generally for announcements/non-SC discussions, or as long-term places for keeping resources like guides, articles, and learning materials (these also have their own addresses, if you ever need to e.g. announce an event you're playing).
In case it wasn't clear, you don't need to use a specific email address to communicate with TOPICS - there's simply a specific address for different CATEGORIES of discussion, as there was on the previous mailing list. Unless a category is muted, you will receive emails for ALL categories and can reply to them as one would expect - but if you are creating a new topic, you do need to choose where that topic is posted.
