Actually - I just created a Flac file and could load it just fine… Maybe download this file to your Desktop and try:

https://www.realizedsound.net/End.flac

And see if it works ok for you:

s.sendMsg(\b_allocRead, 0, "~/Desktop/End.flac".standardizePath)

Tested on signed and unsigned versions, same error message:
File could not be opened: File contains data in an unimplemented format.
