Solved! 

Had to edit build/CMakeCache.txt, changing this line

   CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS:STRING=

to this

   CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS:STRING="-fPIC"

I compiled with gcc|g++ 7.2.0
