wow, my maxed out (max overclocked) R-Pi 1 takes 270 minutes.
Excluding Qt and scide (headless only I need)

that's most likely a performance problem, e.g. in terms of latency.
Buffersize, I suspect.
Also not using the ide could change something.
Too much memory used, for instance (it's just 512MB IIRC?)
on the Linux console issue a
swapon
and see if it's swapping or not (under the 'USED' column)
But I'm barely scratching the surface regarding Linux Audio.
Doing my first steps either, there.
(alas my Pi doesn't work so far)
