[sc-users] RE: reverse reverb in real time
If it were me I'd maybe rig something that writes the reverb signal to a
buffer and reads it back in reverse, using some combination of BufRd/BufWr
and a similar audio rate pointer for both. Of course this means you'd need
to wait for a period of time roughly equal to the initial reverb'd sound
before hearing the reverse delay (as Daniel pointed out), and you'd need to
know the maximum reverb time in advance for buffer allocation, (but of
course you don't need to use the whole buffer). I'll try to post a code
example later.
And while some may wrinkle their noses at the thought, you can always "fake
it," e.g. if you know what your live source sound will be in advance, you
can prepare the reverb beforehand and load it into a buffer for simple
backward/forward playback.
