Hi there

I'm assuming you haven't added the ppa using the details on this page:

https://launchpad.net/~supercollider/+archive/ppa

For some reason the default package source seems to contain a supercollider
3.5 package, which is out of date and doesn't include the IDE. If you add
the ppa and run apt-get update, you will find next time you run apt-get
install supercollider, apt knows about version 3.6 and updates you.

This fixed the problem for me today.
