Which editor is he using for SC? (scel/emacs, scvim, or sced/gedit)

How did he install it? (manual compile or from a package?)

Is JACK running?

s = Server.local.boot;
should start the server as usual.

There are READMEs in each editor folder, and in the linux folder of the source 
package.
There is a Shortcuts helpfile with an overview of what the different shortcuts 
are in the different editors.
