GeneralHID is indeed the right direction. The only problem is that on Windows,
you need to use a helper program called HIDserver (in Python), of which I am
not sure whether it was packaged with the latest windows releases.
With that helper program you can access Game devices only (since it's based on
PyGame), and no mice and keyboards.
