[sc-users] Java - scsynth interaction or sclang with 3D GUI?

Hi there!
I'm just doing some research for a project that I want to realize as my
bachelorthesis... It's about a 3D sequencing program and I'm wondering if I
should use SC or in which extent I should use it. I've read the discussion
at
http://n2.nabble.com/Graphic-sequencer-interface-programming-tp3085222p3085252.html,
which gave me a slight hint, that what I want to do will be quite hard :)
The GUI for the sequencing program should be in 3D and I tend to use Java3D
for it. You should be able to create live musical patterns in some kind of
grid. I really mean "live". This means, the synchronization between the 3D
GUI and the audio signal created by whatever (e.g. SC) is crucial.

I thought of a way of writing the program in Java, which sends OSC messages
via JavaOSC to the SC-Server. Doing things like playing a Synth via OSC is
not that hard, but how hard is it to control patterns?

I don't know the GUI stuff, that is integrated in sclang... How is this
realized? Are these Java-Classes, that are executed by SC-Commands, like,
for example s.makeWindow? Is it easier, to write such Java-Classes for SC
that take care of 3D stuff? Or is there already something like that?

Bye,
Markus
