that's the point, indeed. But people seem not to know it.
I have to say that I'm getting very critic about the idea of software-related forums. People chime in when they have troubles, expect a "synchronous" reply, eventually complain if this comes later, and then disappear.

It's open source. You have to choose if you want to be part of the game or not. At least you have to help by contributing to the discussion.

Users' experiences would be better at talking to the mailing list directly (and if they use the currently active Nabble board, not the old one that is no longer maintained).
