[sc-users] Re: Instant Synth Reload?

Hi Andrea! Thanks for your knowledge!

The synth is being played live... sound played by a physical instrument is being analyzed, control signals generated, and sound synthesized. It seemed practical to do that in one UGen.

Of course, perhaps I could write one UGen for analysis that controls the Ugen for Synthesis... but of course it would be nice to keep things as they are for now and trigger the reload from within the synth.

Does this make sense to you now?

Carlo

I don't know, maybe yes, but it doesn't make much sense to me: those operations are better handled via scheduling, not from inside synths.

Hi everyone!

Thanks for the zillionth time for the gargantuan, great, fine supercollider!

Is there a way to trigger a re-initialization of a node from within a SynthDef?

Or, alternatively, to free and recreate a synth from within a SynthDef?

Many thanks!

Carlo
