Re: [sc-users] SC <<<--->>> Max via OSC

not joeGendy, but check this as a demo. it should get you going...

//  this is talking to max
n = NetAddr("localhost", 8888);
n.sendMsg("/hi/max", 2);

// from max
o = OSCresponderNode(nil, '/test', {|t,r,msg| msg.postln }).add;

Sorry to drag up a four year old post, but I'm looking for help on this.

The joeGENDY Max patch evidently needs a tweak to incorporate "udpreceive"
and "udpsend" objects instead of the "OpenSourceControl" and "outdp" objects
as they're not recoginsed by Max 5.07.  Just changing these two over to
udpreceive / udpsend results in Max not understanding the "prepend/max"
object.

Has anyone got SC3 talking to Max 5.07 using this patch successfully?  Is
there an updated version of the Max or SC patches that work?

Any suggestions gratfuly received.

Hello all

I'm trying to use OSC with SC in order to send and receive control
data to/from Max/Msp running in another computer. Is it possible?
Where can I read about how to do it? I don't even know how to do it in
the same machine...

There is a little example file here:

http://www.ixi-software.net/content/backyard.html

under the Code section called joeGendy

which explains Max -> SuperCollider communication.

have a look at that.
