Re: [sc-users] SplayAz posts (was: 3.3 Debian package build no longer working)

Hi Alberto,

Why is it a bug? it only posts once when you build the synthdef,
so it is rather a minor annyoance, no?
Yes, it's no big deal.

When you notice things like SplayZ being wrong, please fix them in
the main distro, rather than in wslib.
Well, I didn't think it was actually wrong, but just different from what I expected. So I made my own version of it for my own use, and then within a week after that I saw your fix. I use it in a new class named MasterSplay, which will be in the upcoming version of wslib, next to MasterEQ. I'm not one of the devs, so I can't change things myself in the main distro. I just have my own wslib with lots of useful and less useful additions collected over time which I think could be useful for others too..

Just browsing thru wslib, there seem to be lots of things
that would be really useful to have in the main distro
- maybe we should discuss this sometime?
Would be nice yes. One feature I desperately like to see in the main distro is Env:kr. I use it all the time.

cheers,
Wouter

ps- sorry for posting in the wrong thread; I meant to be in the "SuperCollider 3.3 is released" thread, but saw too late that I clicked on the wrong one ..

Hi

congratulations to all devs on the 3.3 release. This update is really a big step forward.

However, I did stumble upon a small bug that seems to have made it's way to 3.3. Although I'm not sure if it's in the actual 3.3 since I build my SC from the most recent SVN. The bug is in SplayAz, a very last-minute addition (and very useful I might add; I was just about to add a corrected version of SplayZ to wslib). It posts some kind of debug message during SynthDef building (an array with floating point values). There is a .postln in the code..

cheers,
Wouter
