CALL FOR SCORES - FIARÌ ENSEMBLE - DEADLINE SEPTEMBER 30, 2009

The Fiarì Ensemble, based in Turin (Italy), is searching for new scores to be performed in the concert series IN SCENA! 2009 - 9th edition, October-December 2009, Teatro Vittoria and Teatro Baretti, Turin.

Submission is open to composers of any nationality without limits of age. The participation is totally free of charges.

We will take into consideration scores for instrumental ensemble and live electronics. There is no limit on duration, though in general pieces under 10 minutes will be preferred. Available instruments are: flute (also piccolo - alto flute), clarinet (also bass clarinet), cello, electric guitar, percussion (1 performer). Partial combinations of instruments are possible, although scoring for the  the full ensemble is preferable.

Works for solo instrument or without electronics WILL NOT be considered.

For technical reasons, the live electronIcs part MUST be implemented using the SuperCollider audio programming environment (http://supercollider.sourceforge.net/). SuperCollider setup will be supervised by Andrea Valle and Joshua Parmenter.

Composers are invited to submit no later than SEPTEMBER, 30th 2009 the following materials:
- nr. 1 copy of the score
- short description of live electronics
- SuperCollider patches used for the performance
- short bio
- short presentation of the piece

Other materials accompanying the submission, such mp3 or midi recording, etc. are welcome.

Materials may be mailed or sent digitally, as specified below.

The selected scores will be performed in the final concert of the series IN SCENA! 2009. Composers will be notified about selection results by October 15th, 2009. The selected composers will then have to send score parts for the performance by October 31th, 2009.
