not sure what's wrong. do you mean it hangs when you open any help file? or Server help?

i tried here (osx.5.6, intel, latest svn sc) and but can't make it happen.

but even if I replace the original one, it does not solve the problem.

i'm guessing here but did you by any chance remove the ServerPlusGUI.sc? not needed. just leave the original class library untouched.

yes, the extServer5.sc overwrites the built-in makeWindow method. that's all in order. but it's just only overwriting it in 'memory' - that particular class method definition. it doesn't touch the ServerPlusGUI file. when you delete the file extServer5.sc it reverts back to the original method definition ServerPlusGUI.
