[sc-users] Re: will there ever be real multiprocessor support?

nova was my attempt to write a max-like language, trying to provide an
improved implementation of a max-like language ...
it was highly performance optimized, outperforming systems like pd or
supercollider by more than 50% on some synthetic benchmarks.
it used a multi-threaded design, but the dsp engine was optimized for a
single-processor system ...
it _should_ compile on osx, at least it did about two years ago, but it
was never really used by someone else, so it is quite buggy. the part of
nova, i am using in performance is stable, but i haven't changed that
part of my performance setup for a long time ...
currently, the project is pretty much dead, mainly because of the
lacking expressive power of the dataflow language in terms of
multi-threaded audio processing.

the best document about nova is my bachelor thesis [1].

cheers, tim
