Re: [sc-users] MIDISyncClock ?

Set server latency to nil.

s.latency = nil;

Events from patterns (generally) make their sound s.latency seconds (default = 0.2) after the physical clock tick to compensate for network jitter. To play in time with an external device, latency does more harm than good.

Also, MIDISyncClock is really no more than a hack. If someone has a better way to do it... please write it up and share!

Hi List ( Specially James Harkins)

I've been trying to sync SC to the external MIDI clock from my MachineDrum, and it seems to follow the tempo ok,
but it's out of phase. Is there some way to offset the MIDISyncClock ?

The MachineDrum has a very steady clock, so I prefer to sync all my stuff to that.
MaxMSP is spot on the beat with the sync~ object...
I'd also like to keep the server in sync meanwhile...

Sync seems hard to me in SC,but maybe I'm missing something ?

I'd be so happy if I could use Pbind patterns in perfect sync with my MachineDrum !
Maybe Demand ugens is something ?
Any help would be great !
