One other thing I noticed in the same menu is that all Pattern helpfiles are in there twice. Once on the first level and again in a submenu "Patterns" right at the bottom. This is still the case after rebuilding the tree. Did I miss something again, or is this really a bug ;-) ?

No, it's a "feature" :-)

The help files get added to the tree under "streams-patterns-events" because that's where they exist in the file system. The pattern classes get added again because the category for patterns is "streams-patterns-events > patterns."

I looked at this some weeks ago but couldn't figure out an airtight way to suppress one or the other, without the risk of breaking the tree somewhere else.

Er, move the patterns help files to a folder called "patterns" within "streams-patterns-events"?
