Hi everyone, I am working with group of 14 year old students to develop an installation at Bolton Museum that explores the ideas of Charles Darwin and contemporary genetics and biotechnology. I am really keen to get the students listening too and thinking about how genetic data and evolutionary processes can be sonified. I know many of you are very active in this area and would love to hear of any projects that I could show the students. I witnessed Dan's great "Genetic Algorithms and live evolution" in Birmingham back in 2006, the beautifully wooden "breed and weed" by Martin Aaserud, and a just found a nice SC DNA project by Chris Hipgrave. I am hoping that the some of the sounds could make there way into the exhibition and there might be opportunities to sell CDs etc in the Museum shop. Any project pages, links to mp3s or code either on or off the list would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Simon |
