Re: [sc-users] quad G5's?

I was wondering if the quad G5 systems apple is selling now run well with
SuperCollider.
-Seems to me waiting for the Intel-version would be a wiser (faster cpu-wise
thing to do. Unless you need the power of these machines right away.

We probably don't have enough time to wait for them..
But if we do; will SC (being not optimized for intel SSE so far) run faster on an Intel mac anyway?

I know from my own dual G5 that SC has
optimization problems which force users to run two server apps at the
same time doing more or less the same thing to gain full power
(otherwise it is slower than a G4 1,67GHz powerbook).
-Isn't this more a problem of SC not using the the other FPU-unit that each
 PPC970 has?

If it is, I'd very much like to know how to change that..
And would the same problem occur with the quad G5's then?
