Subject: Re: [sc-users] new to SC
I haven't seen any word that SC3 is working on
the MacTel machines yet. I know that many other audio programs, such as
MAX/MSP, are not running on the Intel Macs yet. On the other hand, Logic is
going to be running very soon, so that is good news for the Intel Macs.
SC3 works well on a Mac Mini. $500, or $600 for a
faster one with bigger hard drive, Bluetooth, faster CPU, Airport, etc. I just
bought one of these, and I am happy. It is a good low-cost way of getting into
Mac audio.

Subject: [sc-users] new to SC
I am very interested in exploring the possibilities of
using SC as a live performance signal processor for my string bass (and
electric bass) but have been using a PC for my computer (which isn't
the right machine for SC, I'm told). I am now ready to purchase a mac
and am wondering whether SC will work well with the new Intel chips.
Most of the people I've spoken with on the subject seem to think so, but
none of them are familiar with SC, except for one fellow who won't make a
suggestion other than to ask here. So what do you think. Also,
what would be the best interface as the bass (which goes down to a low B)
will likely present latency issues. Thank you.
