I use a metric halo 2882 and it never drops out it survives a minute cpu overflow in supercollider. and it sounds far better than a motu or digidesign 882/20. I also like it more than a RME ADI2.
Motu also dropped out in live situation the mio 2882 never

I see... but that's suggestive also, because MOTU can release driver
updates whenever they want. With the supposedly class compliant
devices, there's a high risk for the usual finger-pointing, where
Apple can say that the device is not truly compliant and the device
manufacturer can claim that they made it to Apple's spec but something
weird is going on in the CoreAudio driver.

MOTU's interaction with OSX is rock solid at this point, at least
based on my experience and the accounts I read over on the osxaudio
board. I don't have personal experience with RME but the osxaudio
folks swear by them.
