Thanks. Of course, Markov chains are not my idea. And those code examples
are nearly 6 years old.

I don't know of other SC examples, (besides Julian's mentioned earlier).

The reason I suggest working with text files is it leads you to interpreting
data culled from outside sources, such as (duh) text (e.g. transcribing
poems into music using the characters) or data from your last grading
database. (Export the numbers from some spread sheet program into a comma
separated text file. Bingo, you can import that into SC for controls.) Any
text file containing numbers could be edited, arranged, then imported as
controls in SC.
