In my library there's a Buffer method *readAndQuery
which loads the buffer on the server, then uses a
/b_query to get numChannels and numFrames. For large
numbers of files, it's slower than reading the header
into SoundFile, but it works very well. If you
readAndQuery multiple buffers at once, the requests
are queued so the OSC messaging doesn't get confused.
