are you sure it's because you compiled sc with these binaries that are the reason for the crash?  you can also build natively (using a swapfile) if you feel uncomfy with the distcc results.

but sure you can build the tools yourself.  it's a bit of a hassle but even i managed.  i left that out of the instructions as i thought it was too much for the sc wiki.  downloading prebuilt binaries seemed like a better option for most.
