I just installed Qt. 4.8.5, as I was using 4.7.1 before. I didn't use homebrew. 
I downloaded Qt 4.8.5 from here: http://qt-project.org/downloads

I'm on the master yes as I wanted to get the latest Image code. 
I'm on 10.6, so this might be the problem.
