just in case someone is interested, i have updated the tarball of my 
hacked scsynth, utilizing nova's simd framework:

http://klingt.org/~tim/supercollider_simd_12.30.08.tar.bz2

the tarball is based on today's supercollider trunk and nova's master 
branch ..
