Hey Ron,
Seems like there needs to be a clear distinction between long-term
approaches (for which we clearly need to establish cross-platform
requirements, maintenance responsibility, etc.), and short term
improvements as these are really separate discussions which often
seem to get mixed up.

Hi all,
Seems like this is a good topic for a platform independence session
in the symposium.
Anyone ideas on how to turn this into a useful face to face
discussion? (One possibility is to
have a morning session that lays out different long term issues and
then have break out
into smaller working groups that report back.)

(happy that Helper has helped, I got crazy with that tricky stuff).
I think we really have to treat all this Cocoa html stuff just like
Cocoa for GUI. Frankly, I do not trust in browsers and in html for
multiplatform compatibility.
In fact, we are still discussing it periodically.
But, indeed, it does not help to complain in a do-cracy. So, I'd
like
to give a look to the architecture I proposed in the future, maybe
for 3.4 at this point.

I'm still interested in improving this situation, but it could be
a big
effort. So keep me posted.
