yes, I think it should be
this would be more democratic since its obviously in somewhat general usage.

I think its an easy cut to move it.

well it would have to do it like I said before:

object.gui
  ... push crucial skin
  build gui
  ... pop previous skin

the more I think about it the less I want to think about it.

Actually , GUI.skin is a good idea. That would make the default easily
customizable.
