If you can bear the idea of a non-SC solution,
The thought makes me shiver with angst.
I use (and like) this:

I tried it and it confirmed how nice it is to get rid of the desktop
with files, disks, etc. One can focus on the SC Docs and GUIs.
However, the problem with Backdrop is if you click outside a
SC Doc or GUI, Backdrop goes to the front and SC disappears.
So not really an option.

Hi
I'd like to be able to hide the desktop and have a background behind
my GUI. I thought about using the fullscreen method, but it does not
work (other windows need to be on top as well, and I'd like to have
the
menubar on top visible).
So I had the idea that it would be possible to create a window that
would
be at the back of all other windows, as in:
w.alwaysAtBack_(bool)
All other open SC windows would thus be on top of this one.
Would someone be interested in implementing this? It allows for all
kinds
of nice things, such as creating grids, background images, text
displays,
etc.
cheers
thor
