Re: [Sc-devel] Pfmono

Hi Julian,

I think Pchain provides a more general approach to filtering that is preferable.  (And, If I recall correctly,
Pchain is your class!)

For example, Pfmono can almost be done as

Pchain(Pmono(\default), Pbind(*[dur: 0.2, midinote: Pwhite(60.0, 72.0)])).play

The difference is you are committed to the synthDef named in Pmono.

So why not modify Pmono to read its instrument from the first event in its substream (if synthName.isNil)?

this is a bad time to add new things... my vote is it's either a quark

maybe a useful addition: Pfmono filters an event by event pattern and
makes it a mono synth.

Pfmono(Pbind(\degree, Pseq([[1, 3], [4, 2], 5, 6], 1), \dur, 0.3)).play;
Pfmono(Pbind(\degree, Pseq([1, 4, 5, 6], 1), \dur, 0.3)).play;
