Re: [Sc-devel] Alternative to AudioIn?

AudioIn is a VERY early example of creating a class that looked like SC2 usage. SC2 inputs (if I remember correctly) were 1 based, not 0th based.

I don't use it... just thought I would shed light on the anomaly.

No opinion on implementation but from an user perspective it seems to me that the name is a bit misleading.
SoundIn?
I don't think that someone would use it for plugging in SC something different from sound.
(and it has only .ar method, no?)

(really just 2c)

One more thought for 3.2:

AudioIn is an anomaly in that it is the only In/Out UGen that uses
indices starting at 1. This means it must constantly be explained as
an exception. (Okay, I admit it's a pet peeve...)

How would people feel about deprecating it and adding a new pseudo-
UGen? HardwareIn?
