It is an osx problem that you have to set the update time of the eventloop 
timer. You will have to figure out which update time works the best for your 
application.
I did not do extensive timing tests with this, but it is a tradeoff between 
cpu it takes and timing accuracy.

On Linux the library provided gives a callback interface, which is much more 
convenient.
