I do plan on improving them eventually, adding add'l sizes for
improved readability at different sizes, etc. Adding some color
differentiation between types is a good idea. List view presents a
problem, as at 16px wide there is no room for the file extension.
Probably a completely different shape is called for in that case.

I'm using Photoshop to compose the images, and Iconographer to
assemble the images & masks and save in the proper format. I based
these on the standard doc icon template from Apple. I have used Icon
Composer before, I think Iconographer does a bit more. It also lets
you save in Windows icon format, which I will do once I figure out
which sizes & masks are needed.

Yes, the data is all in the resource fork. They should open in Preview
(grab the second attachment, not the first one I posted).
