[sc-dev] b_gen synchronous?

Is there a reason why b_gen is synchronous? I'm making several buffers 
with large numbers of harmonics and while they're processing, no other 
commands can go through.

Then again, it might be like b_read which is supposed to be async but 
also blocks incoming messages until it's done.
